World Federation Area Officer 2016-21
I have the great privilege of being the new Vice-President of the Britain and Ireland unit of the World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women (WFM&UCW) and am also part of the MWiB Executive. I was appointed to this role way back in 2014 and have been shadowing Alison Judd trying to find out exactly what the job entails! My role, amongst other things, is to continue to build links between Methodist women in Britain, Ireland and the rest of the world, liaising with the World Church Relationships team.
I worked as a Primary teacher until my husband and I went to serve as Mission Partners in South America, and since we returned to the UK in early 2014 I have been living in beautiful South Devon and working full time in a voluntary capacity within the local church and district, and in the community. I am married to Mark who is a Methodist minister and have two grown up daughters who are both married to wonderful men in Manchester and Bath. I also have two lovely cats who live at home!
I am passionate about the great commission (Matthew 28 vs 19) and have a love for the church around the world in all its forms. I love to preach and teach and use the gifts God has given me to bring people to know Jesus and to grow in their discipleship. I am enthusiastic about women’s issues and have a heart to see women develop and to nurture them in their faith.
