The encouragement of women of faith – in our case Methodists – to engage with issues of justice, concern for humanity and love of the planet is important. Our voices should not be silent. The Methodist way has always been to tie together faith and action. To live what we say. And we try to do that in what is now my home church of Gracious Street, Knaresborough. In my working life, before retirement, I’ve spent most of my time working with and for the needs of children, often those in the greatest need in our society. I’ve been in education, a nanny, and a foster parent. I’ve worked with organisations that promote the welfare of children. I’ve some passionate views on childhood and child development. I’m parent and grandparent and am married to a retired Methodist Minister. We served both in England and Scotland.
