Manchester & Stockport District
My full name is Josephine Mary Richards but everyone knows me as Jo. I am married to Bob, a retired Methodist minister, and we have 4 adult married children and 8 ( soon to be 9) grandchildren. My family are very important and I love spending time with them all.
I am a retired Primary school teacher and enjoy helping out in the Early Years department of our local school. I have been a member of the Methodist Church since my teens and have been involved with Network then MWiB for many years, serving as Secretary for Younger Women when we lived in Norfolk. I was one of the Network Exchange Team representing London who went to Kenya in Summer 1989. Since retiring to Handforth in Cheshire I have served as Manchester and Stockport MWiB District President for 2 years and now serve as Circuit President and as a district officer involved in the planning of various events.
I have been a pastoral visitor for many years and am a steward at my church.
I have a number of hobbies and interests. I enjoy Keep Fit classes and Christian dance. I am on the committee for the North West branch of Christian Dance Fellowship of Britain which holds days of dance at various venues. I also enjoy knitting and making greetings cards.
