MWiB Finance Officer 2013-2018
I took early retirement in 2012. My accountancy career has been varied and interesting- after gaining a degree in Accountancy and Economics I trained with a large accountancy firm before going into private practice, followed by a period of self-employment, then working as a school bursar and finally working in the Schools Funding Team of Lancashire County Council. I am proud to bring my skills and experience to bear on the work of MWiB and I find it a huge privilege to work with so many talented and committed women.
I am a very active member of my local church where I organise an annual Holiday Club, help with our bi-monthly Messy Church, lead a fortnightly house group, a weekly prayer group and am a member of our church MWiB group. From this September I have also agreed to take on the role of Church Council Secretary. Outside of church, I do occasional voluntary work with Partners of Prisoners at Kirkham Prison. I play badminton – my husband and I both play competitively for our local club – and I greatly enjoy singing with the One Voice Community Choir, a renowned local Gospel Choir. We have a grown-up son and now a beautiful new granddaughter.
