Yorkshire West District
I was brought up in the Methodist Church and always had an interest in World Mission through the Missionary Society, and became involved in Network when I went with my mother to the Circuit Events. I have served as Circuit President, secretary and Co-ordinator and as District Minute secretary and am now part of the Executive of the new Yorkshire West.
I live in Ilkley just below the Cow and Calf Rock and as I look out over the Dales each morning I thank God for His beautiful world and think how lucky I am. I enjoy walking, singing in the Choral Society and travelling.
I worship at Christchurch a URC/Methodist Church and am a steward, work in the café as a volunteer and a welcomer, and help at the Women’s Fellowship. I play the piano for various groups including the MHA at Glen Rosa and find this a privilege. Since moving here two years ago I have been able to introduce new members into the Circuit MWiB and District meetings and they thoroughly enjoy them. I have made many new friends. I share my experiences of the World Federation Assemblies Worldwide and in Europe and have been greatly influenced and humbled by the work done by our sisters who do not have all the privileges or the freedom we have but are working relentlessly for the Sustainable Development Goals. I pray that I will be able to give something back to an organisation which has moulded and encouraged me through the last twenty five years and given me a much greater awareness of the injustices of women around the world and how we can make a difference in their lives.
