Thursday 25 February 2016 – introducing Sandra

A brief blog post this morning, before I catch the train to Beverley.  Tomorrow I shall travel on from there to the York and Hull District MWiB Conference at Cober Hill, Scarborough.  I am looking forward very much to being with the women who will gather  for the weekend, and to sharing stories and songs and food and faith and fun with them!  Every time I go to speak in different places it is like meeting a ‘new class’ and getting to know them!

I promised to post a photo of Sandra Goodwin, who will become MWiB Vice President at Conference in London in July.  Here is a very brief pen portrait, to accompany the photo for those of you who don’t yet know her.

Sandra, from the Bedfordshire, Essex & Hertfordshire District, first became involved with Network in 1999 and in 2010 she became District Vice President.  She subsequently became the first District MWiB President and Connexional Forum Representative for the Chester and Stoke District.  She has continued to serve on the Dalit Solidarity task group and has assisted at various Connexional events, such as the recent World Federation days at Codsall and Northampton. She originally worked as a diagnostic radiographer within the NHS, and subsequently took time out of paid employment to devote herself to family responsibilities.  She has more recently (since 2004) trained and served as a volunteer with a missionary organisation in Brazil and has also been accredited as a Local Preacher.  She now lives in Dunstable.

We wish Sandra every blessing as she prepares to join the MWiB Exec fully in the summer. I am looking forward very much to working together with her.

Did I say a brief blog?
