As I write today’s blog I’m in the process of putting together the final slides and documents for the MWiB Forum which will take place at Swanwick on 30th Sept and 1st October.
This will be my first time as lead speaker at Forum and, as with any event, thorough preparation will be key to its smooth running. All the members of the executive team have been busy beavering away as the number of emails flying back and forth between us will bear testament. How did we cope before ‘the age of the internet?!
Preparations for our Vice President, Anne Browse and our forum member for Plymouth and Exeter, Deborah Kirk, have taken a totally different direction.
Flying out to Delhi on Wednesday, they will be representing MWiB at a World Partners meeting followed by attendance at the Church of North India (CNI) Synod. The invitation was given as part of the ongoing relationship with CNI in our work to raise awareness of the situation of Dalit communities both in Asia and in the Uk.
Today’s photo of Deborah and Meena Bhati was taken by Anne during a visit to the UK of Meena and colleague Priya in May 2016. They are planning to meet again to catch up with news over the coming days.
We wish them well as they travel and assure them of our ongoing prayers. We look forward to their safe return and the opportunity to hear their stories.
However, in the meantime, it’s back to those preparations!
