Gwenda is Forum Rep for the Synod Cymru
My first recollection of Women’s Work in the Methodist Church is sitting in the back row in the Sisterhood meeting as a three year old child. In those days the young mothers were asked to sit at the back in case their children made a sound and disturbed the speaker. What a difference today when we welcome young women with open arms, provide toys and snacks for their children and don’t worry about them walking around or being noisy.
I have been a member of the Welsh Methodist Church forever and have enjoyed the fellowship and worship over the years. I retired from my job as a Food Technology teacher three years ago and now enjoy looking after my grandchildren and doing ‘the school run’. I now have time to help out at the Coffee and Chat group at my church, which has given me the opportunity to get to know fellow members better. I also lead worship groups at my own church and others in the area. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, walking and sewing.
