The Liverpool District includes the Wirral Peninsula which is where I have lived most of my life. I have two grown up children and two grandchildren. I was brought up Church of England but came to Methodism via my late husband whose uncle was a Methodist Minister. Once the children left home I had more time to volunteer at church and my secretarial skills were much in demand. Currently I edit our weekly notice sheet, I am a Pastoral Visitor, a Church Steward, Secretary of Church Council, Secretary of my church’s MWiB Committee and am a member of MWiB District Committee. I also help run “Little Lambs”, a pre-school church-run toddler group, and am Secretary of our local World Day of Prayer Committee. I enjoy travel (especially visiting my daughter and grandchildren who live in France), reading, swimming, gentle keep fit and knitting hats for Christmas shoe boxes.
I am aware of the challenges ahead, but hope in my role as Forum Rep I can share news from MWiB and bring to people’s attention its role and how it can help equip, enable and empower women not just in churches but in society in general.
