w\/c 31st<\/sup> August 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n

As we leave the Summer holidays behind us and look at the NEW CHURCH YEAR beginning this week may we think of all the people who will be changing their lives.\u00a0\u00a0 School Children starting new schools, new classes or even going to school for the very first time.\u00a0\u00a0 Children becoming adults as they go to University or even beginning apprenticeships in the work place. \u00a0The fear and anxiety this brings to so many as they step into the unknown territories of their lives. \u00a0We also think of the Ministers who have moved to new homes and will be meeting their new Church congregations for the first time\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026and the people who are meeting their new Ministers for the first time.\u00a0 Change is an unsettling time for people to understand and to acknowledge the emotions this brings.\u00a0 \u00a0Seasons of uncertainty often leave us feeling like we\u2019re stumbling about in darkness, but Jesus said, \u201cI am the light of the world\u201d \u00a0\u00a0(John 8.12).\u00a0 He imparts his life to our spirit, with his light to encourage and guide us.\u00a0 \u00a0We, as Christians know we have a support when we feel \u2026\u2026..out of our depth\u2026\u2026..and to know Christ is a comfort and to make him known is an even better feeling when a problem is shared.<\/p>\n

Take the guiding light with you wherever you are this week and know he is a friend and a comfort.<\/p>\n

Prayer:\u00a0 Ever present Jesus, thank you for reassuring me that you are holding my hand through life\u2019s problems and guiding me through them with the light of your promises and truth.\u00a0 \u00a0Help me to guide others when I notice they are worried or scared of taking the next step and help me to share your love with those I meet during this coming week.\u00a0\u00a0 Be with all those people who are starting a new life in a new place and let them know you are with them every step of the way. AMEN<\/p>\n
