{"id":18309,"date":"2024-09-14T00:01:02","date_gmt":"2024-09-13T23:01:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/?p=18309"},"modified":"2024-09-05T17:00:29","modified_gmt":"2024-09-05T16:00:29","slug":"prayer-for-the-week-14th-september-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/index.php\/2024\/09\/14\/prayer-for-the-week-14th-september-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Prayer for the Week 14th September 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Rita3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-18291\" src=\"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Rita3-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Rita3-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Rita3.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>w\/c 14<sup>th<\/sup> September 2024<\/p>\n<p>This is the month of Synod and as we discuss business matters of our churches and our districts may we never forget that you God are our purpose for discussions and we need to remember to focus on you at the center of everything.\u00a0\u00a0 Some Circuits will be submitting their profiles for new Ministers for 2025 and Ministers will be submitting their papers for Churches to choose them for next year.\u00a0 We know that a lot of time and effort and thought will have gone into preparing these and we pray that the right people will find the right matches to their individual needs for their jobs and their circuits.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0People do not like Change\u2026\u2026\u2026we are creatures of comfort but sometimes we have to step out of our comfort zones and do something different.<\/p>\n<p>When we read bible passages, so many are true for today and could have been written just recently but most were written hundreds of years ago\u2026\u2026.such as Ephesians 5 v 15 \u2013 17\u00a0 So be careful how you live, don\u2019t live like ignorant people, but like wise people.\u00a0 Make good use of every opportunity you have, because these are evil days. Don\u2019t be fools then but try to find out what the Lord wants you to do.\u00a0 Vv 19 &amp; 20\u00a0 Speak to one another with the words of psalms, hymns and sacred songs; sing hymns and psalms to the Lord with praise in your hearts.\u00a0 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0 Always give thanks for everything to God the Father.<\/p>\n<p>And Isaiah 43 v 19\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 Watch for the new thing I am going to do.\u00a0 It is happening already, you can see it right now!<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes we have to accept new things and new ways of doing things. \u00a0Sometimes our eyes are shut to what is happening around us and we do not see the bigger picture. \u00a0We must not look back but keep going forward with one another. \u00a0Jesus is our Stability, the centre of our lives and we must stay focused on him while moving forward to new things.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prayer:\u00a0\u00a0 Lord may we, your church across the earth, always see what you are doing.\u00a0 Give us a renewed vision for today.\u00a0 May we not be so wedded to old ways that we miss the new.\u00a0 Fill us and fill us again, that we may pour out new wine.
