<\/a><\/p>\nLuke 11\u00a0 v 28. Blessed, rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.<\/strong><\/p>\n Are you good at listening? Jesus calls us blessed if we, not only LISTEN to the word of God, but HEAR it.\u00a0 I have a box of promises containing \u201c101 Blessings from God\u2019s Word\u201d, which I dip into regularly in quiet moments. The verses always speak to me as I listen with my eyes.<\/p>\n It is interesting to note that LISTEN and SILENT are spelled with the same letters!<\/p>\n James, in his letter, has a lot to say about listening, speaking and doing, (James 1\u00a0 vv19 -20) but one of my favourite verses is James 4\u00a0 v8. \u201c Come near to God and He will come near to you. \u201c<\/p>\n Right at the beginning of the Bible we are told that we are created and blessed by God,( Genesis 1\u00a0 vv 27 \u2013 28a ),and by the end of Matthew\u2019s Gospel, Jesus gives us the great commission finishing with the promise that, \u201c I am with you always to the very end of the age. \u201c No matter what we may face, we have that blessed assurance.<\/p>\n PRAYER<\/p>\n Everyday God, bless us with your presence today as we walk, as we talk, as we listen and as we learn. We don\u2019t know what lies ahead for us, but we hold on to your promise that you will walk with us. Help us to feel you supporting us in dark times when the going gets rough, and rejoicing with us when the path is smooth and the sun shines.<\/p>\n I am listening Lord for thee.
