Friends from here often travel many miles to the south of the district, in order to share in activities, so this time we were glad to journey north. Situated on the Northumberland coast, it was appropriate to have a watery theme for our day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Newcastle4.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-18983\" src=\"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Newcastle4-266x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"266\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Newcastle4-266x300.png 266w, https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Newcastle4.png 410w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 266px) 100vw, 266px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u2018Still Waters\u2019<\/em><\/strong> was the title, led by Helen Van Teutem. As we gathered for our opening worship after a welcome cup of coffee or tea, we were gently brought to a calm, still, thoughtful place to worship our Loving God with prayers, hymns and Mark\u2019s account of \u2018The Stilling of the Storm.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>During the morning Helen guided us with thoughts of John\u2019s account of \u2018A man healed at the Pool of Bethesda.\u2019 In small groups we had the opportunity to explore further. Here it was very illuminating to share each other\u2019s thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>The morning ended with relaxation and breathing exercises, before Helen led us with a meditation entitled \u2018By the seashore.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Newcastle5.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-18984\" src=\"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Newcastle5-300x232.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"232\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Newcastle5-300x232.png 300w, https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Newcastle5.png 532w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After an enjoyable hour of chatter and laughter while we ate our lunch, we then had the choices of craft activities, circle dancing or a walk exploring Amble. Following this, closing worship with Holy Communion included prayers for peace.
