Saturday 7th<\/sup> February 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eyes fixed on Jesus\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hebrews 12: 1-3<\/strong><\/p>\n

Teaching\u00a0his son to ride\u00a0a\u00a0bicycle, Andrew\u00a0discovered, was very frustrating.\u00a0The five-year-old\u00a0\u00a0 kept swerving\u00a0to one side and falling. Realising\u00a0that this happened\u00a0because his son kept looking\u00a0to one\u00a0side, Andrew had an\u00a0idea.\u201d See\u00a0that pole?\u201d he asked his son.\u00a0\u201cJust keep your eyes on it and pedal\u201d\u00a0His son did just that, and this time he kept\u00a0going and going!<\/p>\n

This incident was a lesson for Andrew\u00a0himself. Recounting\u00a0what had\u00a0happened to his small group\u00a0later, he concluded:\u00a0whatever we fix our eyes on\u00a0is where we\u00a0are\u00a0headed.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

No\u00a0wonder\u00a0Hebrews 12:2 calls us\u00a0to keep \u201cfixing our eyes on\u00a0Jesus, the\u00a0pioneer and\u00a0perfecter of\u00a0faith,\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Life\u2019s\u00a0responsibilities and routines\u00a0can draw our\u00a0attention\u00a0away from our spiritual\u00a0walk, as\u00a0can\u00a0sinful\u00a0habits\u00a0and obsessions\u00a0that entangle us\u00a0[v,1]. But\u00a0if we keep our eyes on Jesus\u00a0and ask Him to help\u00a0us\u00a0put\u00a0Him\u00a0first in our\u00a0thoughts, decisions, and\u00a0actions,\u00a0He\u2019ll\u00a0guide us\u00a0in everything we do\u00a0and\u00a0say, enabling\u00a0us to stay close to Him\u00a0in the race on\u00a0earth.\u00a0This\u00a0can be challenging, but God desires\u00a0to help us fulfil the roles\u00a0He\u2019s\u00a0given\u00a0us.\u00a0He will give us strength to endure and overcome\u00a0anything that\u00a0opposes our\u00a0walk\u00a0so\u00a0we\u00a0won\u2019t\u00a0\u201cgrow weary and\u00a0lose\u00a0heart\u201d [v3].<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Turn Your Eyes\u00a0upon\u00a0Jesus<\/em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Look full in His wonderful\u00a0face,\u00a0and the things of\u00a0earth<\/em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Will grow strangely\u00a0dim\u00a0in the light of\u00a0His\u00a0glory and grace.<\/em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
