{"id":19196,"date":"2026-02-14T00:01:18","date_gmt":"2026-02-14T00:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/?p=19196"},"modified":"2026-02-03T10:31:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T10:31:07","slug":"prayer-for-the-week-saturday-14th-february-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/index.php\/2026\/02\/14\/prayer-for-the-week-saturday-14th-february-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Prayer for the Week &#8211; Saturday 14th February 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Saturday 14<sup>th<\/sup> February 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/NC2-scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-19197\" src=\"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/NC2-300x201.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/NC2-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/NC2-1024x686.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/NC2-768x514.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/NC2-1536x1029.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/NC2-2048x1371.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I am in the privileged position of being part of a group who organize the telling of the Christmas and Easter story to our local primary school children.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, they are taken on a \u201cJourney\u201d through the events of both of these Christian celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>And although we are about to begin preparations for the \u201cChristmas Journey\u201d, it is something that happened this Easter past that I would like to share with you.<\/p>\n<p>We invite year 6 children to \u201cjourney\u201d through Holy Week, from Palm Sunday, to Jesus in the temple, sharing the Passover, and through to Easter Day.<\/p>\n<p>And at the end of it we all share juice and biscuits and chat together about what they have seen and heard.<\/p>\n<p>There is always a lot of chatter, as the children decide which part was best and which was saddest.<\/p>\n<p>During the conversation one girl asked, \u201cHow do I know it\u2019s true\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>What a question to come from such a young person.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps our children are bombarded with so many \u201cstories\u201d, that they no-longer know what to believe or even for some whom to trust.<\/p>\n<p>Words can only tell the story, the Holy Spirit is the only one to bring those words to life, and so as individuals we discover the \u201cstory\u201d is true.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A prayer:\u00a0 Lord Jesus come from your story into our story.\u00a0 We pray for our children, puzzled over so many differing stories and the uncertainty these bring into their lives.\u00a0 We pray that they may discover for themselves the love and care you have for each one of them and that each are your \u201cspecial treasure\u201d.\u00a0 We pray that as your church, our witness may not only be words spoken but lives lived in the reality of your constant love and presence, that our children may know that the story of Jesus is true.<\/p>\n<p>Lord Jesus come from your story into their story.
