{"id":19387,"date":"2026-05-19T21:33:49","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T20:33:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/?p=19387"},"modified":"2026-05-19T21:33:49","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T20:33:49","slug":"tea-at-the-ritz-at-romsey-methodist-church","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mwib.org.uk\/index.php\/2026\/05\/19\/tea-at-the-ritz-at-romsey-methodist-church\/","title":{"rendered":"Tea at the Ritz &#8211; at Romsey Methodist Church"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>It wasn\u2019t quite Tea at the Ritz \u2026but<\/h2>\n<h3>At Romsey Methodist church there was plenty of food \u2013 sandwiches, cheese<br \/>\nscones, fruit scones, and cake, and more cake \u2013 most of which disappeared.<br \/>\nEntertainment between course ranged from stories of the real Ritz, through amusing<br \/>\npoems, and well loved songs, some solos, duets, and singalong songs from<br \/>\nSunnydays, a local singing group.<br \/>\nEveryone was chatting, smiling and laughing the afternoon away. Donations for<br \/>\nthe tea, and a small table of items realised \u00a31,102 for The Honeypot Children\u2019s Charity who<br \/>\nsupport young carers between the ages of 5 and 12 across much of the southern part of the<br \/>\ncountry providing respite care at Honeypot house in the New Forest, and outings as well as<br \/>\nfamily help. They also have a house in Wales and one in Scotland.<br \/>\nOur small group of Methodist Women in the Winchester, Eastleigh and Romsey Circuit have<br \/>\npartnered with them this church year and to date have raised in the region of \u00a34000 for their<br \/>\nwork.
