Empowerment Gifts and World Mission
Each year MWIB support work overseas to helping women and children in many countries through the Empowerment Gifts scheme. In addition, many of our Churches, MWIB and Network groups have World Mission boxes to raise funds for the Global Relations Team and each year local groups hold Easter Offering Services to raise awareness and funds to assist work overseas.
Our local group supports a project ‘Every Penny’ – a charity supporting a church in Sri Lanka helping those in education, in need through lack of food and helping the Methodist Church in that country.
Prayer – we pray for the Global Relations Team, all the Projects they support, for money raised through the Easter Offering Service and for those projects all our groups support locally. Amen
The Sycamore Gap tree must have had strong roots as there are signs of growth. Like the hymn chosen by Maureen our World Church Representative, speaks of being supported by God. The engraving says ‘Make Miraculous Life’, which is what we are doing by supporting the projects whether home or abroad.
