Saturday 20 December 2025: Love Came Down – Drawing Near to Christmas

Reflection

As we draw nearer to Christmas, we reflect on the mystery of Emmanuel, God with us. Not distant or demanding, but present and personal. This is a season when many feel joy, but also sorrow. We remember that Jesus came into a broken world not to judge it, but to love it. May we carry that same love into every home, heart, and conversation.

Prayer

God of Love,
In a world aching for light, you sent your Son to shine among us.
In a world longing for hope, you gave us Jesus – humble, holy, and human.

As we prepare to celebrate Christ’s birth,
fill our homes with peace,
our hearts with grace,
and our lives with compassion.

Help us to notice those who are grieving, lonely, or forgotten this season.
May our welcome reflect your welcome.
May our giving reflect your generosity.
May our lives reflect your love.

Amen.
