Alison is World President of the World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women
Elected at the 13th World Assembly in Houston, Texas, in August 2016, I will serve in this role until the 14th World Assembly in Goteborg, Sweden, in August 2021. Previously, I had been Area President for Britain and Ireland 2011-2016, and thus part of the executive of Methodist Women in Britain, during that formative period. I count it an enormous privilege to be able to travel extensively as part of my role, and learn from women in very different cultures what it means to be a follower of Jesus. His promise to the disciples recorded in Acts 1:8 has become a very significant verse to me as I witness the amazing work of God ‘here, there and everywhere’. I am a local preacher, a former mission partner, a wife and mother of two. I live with my husband Les just outside Southampton. I love walking in the countryside, sharing meals with friends and family, and engaging with the women of the Federation.
