A cry for help:-
Why, why, why,
is my present
hidden in emptiness,
is my future
filled with blackness and pain?
Why is my world
so covered in rain;
why am I all alone
in a shower of dread and shame?
I’m so exhausted and tired
right through to my soul,
and I can’t hear anything
through the screams in my head.
How can I ever find peace
and become whole?
A carer’s prayer:-
O my God,
Why, why, why?
I cling to knowing that you are loving
and know your children’s pain.
Jesus, I cling to knowing you weep with us
and your heart is breaking too.
But sometimes God, it overwhelms me.
O my God,
hold each one of your hurting children in your arms,
help each one of your hurting children to feel your healing tears,
Help each one of your hurting children to know your powerful love,
Help each one of your hurting children to find your everlasting peace,
and help each one of your hurting children to fill the emptiness
with your healing, love, peace and hope
And become whole.
Amen Jackie Smith
