The morning frosty
Cold and clear
Breath visible
Wintry sunshine
Sparkling
Passing the greenhouse
Stopping
Words from St Paul
Crashing into life
‘Now we see through a glass dimly…’
Indeed I did
The glass misty
Plants vaguely visible
I rushed to catch
The image
Before it disappeared.
Sometimes Lord you speak to us so clearly
Enabling us to understand
In a flash
The words of Scripture.
We want to pin down
To grasp
To know
But you give us
Just enough
To see dimly
Not to be overcome
But to be made
Curious
To invite
Not overwhelm
Thank you
