Since I began writing this blog, back in the summer of 2015, I have often posted photographs of this view from our home. We are blessed to live on a farm which looks down across the M5 and over to Sidmouth and the view is stunning. This evening the sky has been through a gentle spectrum of pale oranges and pinks as the sun sets here in Devon.
I am feeling reflective at the moment, and have to keep reminding myself that I am not the first woman in history to prepare for the first wedding of one of her children! As with most life experiences, however, it feels as if I am! It has been very special over recent days to receive emails and text and cards from friends who are remembering us as we prepare for Katie and George’s marriage next week.
As we continue to progress through Advent I am reminded again of how much strength I gain from the belief that God in Christ understands our deepest thoughts and feelings and emotions. Someone reminded me today that Jesus knew all about weddings! If we had more faith perhaps we would simply have ordered in bottles of water, rather than wine!
