Concerned that the Methodist women in their district are not able to meet together, and that the usual fundraising for their district project has been seriously affected, the Chester and Stoke on Trent district have come up with the idea of a ‘Count Our Blessings’ activity. For each day during June there is something to think about, a way of recognising the many blessings that we have, and the opportunity to give thanks by putting some money aside for those who are not so blessed.
It is hoped that by ‘counting blessings’ along with others, at the same time despite being apart from each other, this will help people to stay connected in thought, prayer, and thanksgiving during the lockdown, and will help to raise some much needed money for their district project.
Chester and Stoke have graciously offered this to other districts, groups and individuals to use, and you can download their ‘Count Our Blessings’ document here – but do note that you will need to adapt it for your own use – for example, you will need to change the date from June to whatever month you choose, and references to the Chester and Stoke District and their projects will need changing to your own.
