Lancashire District MWiB Conference 2024
Methodist Women in Britain held the Annual District Conference at the Glendower Hotel in
St Annes on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th February. We had a wonderful time of
fellowship, friendship and fun.
The excellent speaker was Deacon Denise Creed who has now retired and
lives in Llandudno but was previously a Deacon in the South Fylde Circuit. The
topic for the daytime sessions was ‘ The Lord is my Shepherd’. Psalm 23. Denise gave us
much to ponder on about this very popular Psalm. We also sang some lovely
hymns.
In the evening we had a social time together of fun and games. There were four
teams of approximately eight in each and we were all extremely competitive,
Ladies from the Liverpool District and the Bolton and Rochdale District had been
invited to join us and it was good to get to know them.
The hotel staff were very kind to us and the food was good.
We ended on Tuesday afternoon with a Love feast which was very moving and
inspiring. I recommend this event to anyone who feels they would like to go next year.
