This morning my copy of “Preach” arrived. I look forward to reading it, being inspired and enlightened with the topics and themes and I have been reminded of Jesus’ words from the Gospel of Matthew chapter 28
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Lord, you commissioned us to go and make disciples of all nations. This week as we interact with whoever we meet, may we show, in what we do, say and how we act, your love and grace.
There are so many people across the world, in whatever capacity, work tirelessly to spread the good news of the gospel; to spread your word and its message of truth, of justice and of love.
Yet many Lord are still persecuted for their faith, prompting me to think of how fortunate we are in the UK to speak and act freely, to preach and serve openly and without fear
Lord, in your gracious mercy, we hold up to you the preachers and teachers of today making disciples in all nations. In Jesus’ name. Amen
