Could your church be more friendly to people with dementia and their carers? In collaboration with MHA we have created a pack of spiritual and practical resources to help us support those living with dementia and those who care for them. It includes material from MWiB creativity, MHA expertise in person-centred dementia care, aims of the National Dementia Strategy and the Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Friends initiative. The aim is to help create communities which are more supportive of those living with dementia, of whom 61% say that their community has little or no understanding of how to help them live well.
There is content to help all of us be sensitive to everyone we encounter – at church, as neighbours, or indeed at the bus stop or in a supermarket queue.
