The grandchildren came to visit
They love my special shelves
Filled with books and gifts from loved ones.
When they had gone
I found they had assembled these things together
And, Lord, I smiled and thanked you for the gift
Of children and of insight.
Here, sheltering beneath the Cross are the sheep
Sheep of your flock
Or dare I say it, any sheep in need of shelter?
Here, leaning against the Rock the sheep
Find shelter from inclement weather,
Peace in the storm.
Lord Jesus, you taught us to see with the eyes of children.
These little ones did not know what they offered
But you give us eyes to use
To see you in their gifts
To us
How wonderful is that!
This week we
Pray for all your little ones
Holding their laughter and their tears
In your love and care
For the sake of Jesus.
Amen
