The first time I attended the MWiB Swanwick weekend there was definitely a sub-theme running beneath the main theme, because whenever someone stood up to give out a notice it almost always involved a lost earring! This year there was no lost property of note, other than a tiny padlock which someone picked up on the first evening, and this necklace which was handed to me at Sunday lunch. We suspect someone pulled it off inadvertently when a badge lanyard was given in.
The necklace is quite safe, travelling with me as I head by train to Nuneaton to lead a quiet day. What a contrast – 250 women at Swanwick, probably fewer than 25 expected here. Both are a joy and a privilege to be a part of, and opportunities which I would never have dreamed would be mine.
I hope the necklace will be recognised and claimed by its owner. I feel another modern day parable coming on. There was once a woman who had a necklace…
