Last night I took part in the first of several Easter Offering services to which I have been invited this year. Ironically I had to miss my own circuit’s service, as I was in a neighbouring circuit! There was nevertheless a sense of connectedness, as I recognised that we were sharing the same hymns and prayers and stories as we worshipped several miles apart. We were also sharing the stories of people whom most of us may never meet, as we live miles, indeed continents apart from the Dalit people of India.
There is however an opportunity to meet two women from the Church of North India when they visit us next month. They will be at the Paul Field concert on Saturday 21 May in Methodist Central Hall Westminster. Tickets are still available via the website or by post at £5 each by sending a stamped address envelope and payment to Concert, PO Box 9298, Loughborough, LE11 9FY. I look forward to seeing many of you there, with lots of your friends and relations!
Have a good week. I am off to Liverpool today, for the District Day at Burscough Methodist Church tomorrow. Looking forward to sharing stories.
