For today’s blog I have chosen a photo taken on Tuesday at the Liverpool District Day at Burscough Methodist Church. Jayne, the circuit administrator, sent on some lovely shots of the event, some of which I will share over the next few days. This one was taken during one of the refreshment breaks. It was very special for me to meet up again with Revd Jackie Bellfield. Jackie was our speaker at the Swanwick weekend last year, when she shared with us the inspirational story of New Song, Warrington.
It was particularly poignant to be in the Liverpool District on the day when the verdicts of the Hillsborough enquiry were released. There were women within our MWiB gathering at Burscough whose lives had been touched and changed forever by that tragedy, and before we closed the morning session for lunch the local MWiB president, Revd Lily Twist, shared news of the verdicts with the meeting, and we paused together to reflect and to pray.
