Amongst other resources to help me pray I use the Methodist Prayer Handbook. I invite you to share one of the prayers for today, which is also published on the Methodist Church website.

Gracious, loving God,
each day millions of people travel into and out of the city,
millions of mini pilgrimages
along tracks, roads, streets, canal paths,
through parks and across concrete wastes.
Bless those who travel with hope,
protect those who travel in fear,
heal those who travel in pain.
Help us to know that you travel with us
and guide us to your Son, Jesus Christ,
in whose name we pray. Amen.

Michaela Youngson, London District Chair

As I pray this prayer today my thoughts are very much with the refugees whom I met last week in Greece. Refugees who currently but temporarily live on roads, in parks, on concrete wastes. Refugees whose journey has been halted, whose families have been separated, for whom hope is a hard concept.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
