Induction training for new MWiB Forum

On Saturday 16 July I returned to Methodist Central Hall, Westminster, for a day of induction training for new members of the MWiB Forum. Seventeen of us gathered in the Chapel and went over the responsibilities of the role, such as the requirements of being trustees of the charity and the ever challenging issue of effective communication across the districts. We began to get to know each over lunch and we look forward to meeting again when we come together for the October Forum in Swanwick.

Women had travelled to the meeting from as far afield as Shetland and Cumbria, some staying over in London to make the journey viable. There was much information to assimilate over the course of the day, but we hope that this will make the transition into the role a little easier. I was inspired by the enthusiasm of the new reps, their willingness to learn and to ask questions, and the new ideas and skills which they bring to the movement.

The training was planned and delivered by the ‘old’ executive officers and it was very special to work together as a team for what will probably now really be the last time. The executive group will be different when we met in September, with only Gillian and myself remaining and joined officially by Sandra, Jude and Carolyn. It is good that we have had opportunity to get to know each other over the past few months. Please pray for us as we come together as a team, and for the new Forum members as they prepare to serve and move MWiB forward over the next three years.
