In today’s blog you will see a picture of a Bolivian farmer at the side of her field of quinoa. Sandra Goodwin, our current MWiB Vice-president and Chris Thompson, Forum representative for Chester and Stoke District are about to embark on an official overseas visit to the Methodist Church in Bolivia. They have been challenged to bring back a traditional Bolivian bowler hat to use when visiting districts, so we wait in anticipation!
Sandra and Chris will be flying out in the early hours of Monday morning, 10 April, to Madrid and then on to Lima in Peru for an overnight stay before travelling on to El Alto in Bolivia, the highest airport in the world. Here they will be welcomed and supported by the women of FEFEME, the Bolivian equivalent of MWiB. After the opportunity to rest and acclimatise to the altitude, Sandra and Chris will embark upon a busy schedule of visits, speaking engagements and Bible study workshops. A highlight of their visit will be on Easter Sunday morning when they will be joining in the ‘Resurrection March’ followed by a service of celebration in El Alto and a visit to the ‘Museum of Peace’ in La Paz.
Please pray for Sandra and Chris as they prepare, travel and acclimatise to the altitude. We hope to be able to post details of their progress on the blog, if they are able to keep us updated.
