You may recognise one or two familiar faces in today’s picture, taken by Carolyn Lawrence at our Friday evening fringe event. Rev Peter Barber, District Chair for Chester and Stoke on Trent, gave an inspiring address based on a passage from Ezekiel interjected by equally inspiring tales of early Methodism by Dr Jill Barber, former Vice- President of Conference. We were also privileged to hear the amazing winning entries of this year’s writing competition beautifully read to us by Rev Jenny Pathmarajah. Do look out for these, they will soon be on the website for all to enjoy.
Today, Saturday, has been more relaxed for me ‘finding my feet’ as a full Conference representative for the first time. We have been richly blessed by two inspiring messages from the new President, Loraine Mellor and Vice- President Jill Baker whom many of you will know as the first President of MWIB in 2011.
