After the joy of meeting people from across the Connexion at Conference it was good to have the opportunity today to catch up with local ladies from Harlington and the nearby village of Toddington. Gathering at our home we enjoyed afternoon tea and the time to chat together.
Having anxiously watched the forecast over the last few days, David and I had prepared for all weathers. I still have vivid memories of a District MWiB ‘open day’ held in the pouring rain in Cheshire!
This time however, predicted thunderstorms failed to materialise and we were able to enjoy the garden finding shady spots to avoid the heat of the afternoon sun. Some of our friends are pictured above sitting in the shade of a pear tree.
Although the ladies normally meet on Methodist Church premises the groups include members of all denominations and none, simply taking the time to share in fellowship and care for one another. Caring and ‘looking out’ for one another is an important part of our Christian witness, it binds us together as community.
