July 24th 2017 – All Good Gifts

In my last blog I mentioned that we were accessing WiFi in a small café and craft shop. It is called ‘Anglesey Good Gifts’ and is a very special place.

It was the vision of a Catholic lady, aptly named Faith, that people of all ages and abilities could meet together to share fellowship, make crafts, have fun and refreshment. It evolved into a community group welcoming people of all faiths and none. It is helping many to grow in confidence and self-esteem, and to learn new skills.

Funding from a variety of sources enabled them to rent the ground floor of the house pictured above, become an official charity and extend their work by opening the café. It is managed and run totally by caring volunteers with a wide range of abilities.

From their website (www.angleseygoodgifts.co.uk):-

‘We are a caring sharing collective of creative adults. We are a charitable organisation enabling individuals to gain self-esteem from the sale of their handcrafted goods. We have a diverse range of talents leading to a diverse range of crafts on sale.

Our inclusive attitude means all are made welcome. We invite you to sample our homemade produce. You could join us in an informal crafting session. We are always looking for ways individuals can contribute. You may have crafted goods to sell through the shop or be a home baker. Come along and see for yourself what we offer.’

We have received a heart-warming welcome each day – and tea and cake of course! Isn’t it amazing how one small idea can grow into something really special, – just like the mustard seed.
