Prayer w/c 21st September 2024
Where do I start with the last week of the month? As I write this I have been visiting lots of poorly people recently and a friend popped in to me and said……….Could you pray for me? Suddenly I realized that so many people need our prayers for one thing or another. Our Churches cannot run with sick people as they do not have the strength to do what is needed. But even the housebound can pray. I will print a hymn found in H&P by F.Pratt Green and hope this fills every need of people who are suffering.
May we also say a prayer this week for our New Co-chair who will be commissioned on Saturday at Harrogate. Lord bless Leonora Wassell as she joins MWiB and works alongside Maggie to lead us further into your kingdom and do the work you have put her to do. Give her knowledge and understanding of all things connected with MWiB and may she guide us for another few years to Know Christ and to make him known. In Jesus name we pray………..Amen.
Healing Hymn
O Christ, the Healer, we have come
To pray for health, to plead for friends,
How can we fail to be restored,
When reached by love that never ends.
From every ailment flesh endures,
Our bodies clamour to be freed,
Yet in our hearts we would confess,
That Wholeness is our deepest need.
In conflicts that destroy our health,
We diagnose the World’s disease,
Our Common life declares our ills,
Is there no cure, O Christ, for these?
