Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Peace…peace and quiet; isn’t it lovely to sit and ponder, to read or just look out of the window at the garden. How fortunate we are to be able to do just that.. imagine living in a war zone, constant thundering sounds, bombs, destruction and having nowhere to escape
There was programme on TV recently where the presenter was walking along a well-known mountain path absorbing the quiet and the scenery as he went along. I found it restful just watching it, being in the moment of the beautiful scenery, and the mountain which seemed to wrap itself around the presenter
Sometimes when we are crushed by life’s problems, situations overwhelm us, it’s easier said than done, to ponder, sit quietly, prayerfully even, to take stock and allow God to shoulder the load
Lord, we hear your voice say “come unto me and rest” we readily come to you, seek your peace, lay our weary heads down. We bring our sorrows and sadness, our fears and troubles…and we give thanks for the resting place we always find in you. In Jesus name. Amen
