As I write this blog I can see, through the corner of my eye, a peppering of snow on the garden. Fortunately, there was no sign of snow, or even rain, at Cober Hill in Scarborough where, over the weekend, I had great pleasure in sharing with ladies from the Yorkshire North and East District.
It was my first visit to Cober Hill and, it being situated on the East Coast, I had packed my ‘Hot Water Bottle’ – just in case! However, not only was the venue lovely and warm, but the warmth of fellowship and friendship was amazing too!
The theme for the weekend was ‘Water for Life, Water of Life’ and as you can see in the above collection of photos we beavered away, not only looking at this precious resource from many different angles, but creatively through music, writing and art too.
I used to find the game of cricket very boring as a teenager, it was far too slow for my taste and used a language all of its own. However, since my visit to Yorkshire I have discovered a new fondness for the game. On the Saturday evening, using a ‘Cricket without Boundaries’ bat, an hilarious time was had by all. We managed not to cause any lasting damage other than to our pride!
Thank you to all my friends, both old and new, of the Yorkshire North and East District for a lovely and inspiring weekend.
Blessings Sandra
