The time has come to pass on responsibility for writing the presidential blog. Ruth and I agreed some weeks ago to make the change at the beginning of August, as we worked around respective holidays.
So, I thought I would try to present some thoughts in a different way. Below are a few haiku [short poems in a traditional Japanese style using three lines of text. The first and third contain seven syllables and the second five syllables.]
Two years of writing have passed
As Covid nineteen
Spread through our nation and world.
On-line communications
Responded to need
To keep us in connection.
From Conference to YouTube,
Zoom meetings: a blog,
Our values stay consistent.
For women, for justice, for Christ,
The message remains
The driver for all we do.
Time for a new blog writer,
Passing on the role
Keeping M WiB in contact.
As Ruth takes up the baton
We offer support,
And we hold her in prayer.
