Jesus, my Saviour, my God,
You said ‘I am the way, and the truth and the life.’
When I can’t see the way ahead,
when I stumble and fall,
when I need comfort and help –
then you gently take my hand,
remind me, once again,
how much you love me, saying –
‘Follow me – I’ll show you the way’.
Oh Jesus,
help me to constantly look to you
seeing in your life’s example
the way I should live mine –
welcoming, weeping, washing,
watching, waiting and working;
and above all else
loving.
You never forget me,
you never abandon me,
you show me the one true and living God.
Help me to follow you in your way,
to love you more and more,
and to love others
in the same way that you love me.
Help me to stay close to you,
to yearn for your company,
so that I follow in your footsteps
all the days of my life,
Praising and glorifying God.
