After I had blogged yesterday, the house came to life. Katie brought four friends home to stay the night here. Today they were all to be bridesmaids, and one of them the photographer, at the wedding of a friend. First the kitchen was filled with the aroma of their fish and chip supper, and then it changed to the heady fragrance of nail varnishes and removers, as they helped each other with their mani and pedicures. I am not sure whether the girl who was the photographer needed to join in this activity!
This morning dawned bright and sunny, an unexpected change from the forecasts of the last week. I decided to venture out on my first independent drive since my op, and took myself to witness the wedding, which was simply beautiful.
Katie and her friends have not yet seen my photos, as they are still partying with the bride and groom, so, until I have permission to post the sort of photos you were probably hoping for, here is the notice outside the church where the wedding took place. A fitting illustration to end a week of pilgrimage and travelling for many of our friends! Could write a mini sermon, but I think the image speaks for itself.
