Tonight I shared stories from my visit to the Methodist Church in Germany at SoulFire, a monthly ecumenical, café style worship event held in our local village halls. We closed by singing ‘The day Thou gavest. Lord, is ended’, in English or in German. I leave some of those words with you tonight, together with a photo sent to me by a friend who was recently in Norway, where I know that several readers of this blog have also been this year.
The day Thou gavest, Lord is ended, the darkness falls at Thy behest; to Thee our morning hymns ascended, Thy praise shall sanctify our rest.
