This little shop always intrigues me!  Yesterday I was in Wantage, in Oxfordshire, to speak at the Wednesday Fellowship at the Methodist Church.  I went with Nina, the Forum rep for the Northampton District, who had travelled down from Stamford, a journey almost as long as mine from Devon!  We enjoyed meeting the people there and sharing with them what MWiB is and does.  It was also exciting to see how they have refurbished the interior of the church building to create a beautiful, flexible space which can now be used in many ways.

Before and after the meeting I enjoyed hearing stories people shared with us.  Stories of those who have always lived in the area; stories of those who have moved here to be near family; personal stories; stories of how the church serves the community.

The journey up the M5 and the M4 in the morning had taken me just over two hours.  The final eleven miles, once I had left the motorway, covered beautiful countryside, with numerous birds of prey hovering over the fields.  The return journey took rather longer, as traffic crawled down the M5, delayed by an accident somewhere around Cribbs Causeway.  Those journeys always make me aware of the fact that sometimes people set out on a journey which then turns into something difficult and unexpected.  I was grateful to reach home safely, if a little later than planned.

Please continue to remember the MWiB pilgrims in the Holy Land at the moment.  I hope to share some of their news on this blog soon.
