On Wednesday night the MWiB executive officers met at Highbury in preparation for our business meeting today at Methodist Church House. As we travelled through the streets of London on our way to the meeting this morning, Liz wondered why I was taking a photo of the Post Office Tower? “Because I don’t see this every day” was the best and most honest reply I could manage. It was a beautifully clear morning and the colours of the reflections in glass-fronted buildings was stunning.
I still wonder at the fact that my role with MWiB allows me the opportunity to travel up to London quite frequently for all sorts of meetings and events. The past three days have been busy, to say the least, but I have thoroughly enjoyed working with three different teams on three different tasks. On Tuesday we planned final details of the Paul Field concert on 21 May – now we just need you all to buy your tickets for what promises to be an exciting event. On Wednesday we were delighted to appoint Judith Simms as our new MWiB Communications Officer – more about Judith in a future blog. Today the executive officers met and covered a full agenda – we were grateful for Lynne’s note-taking, and for the hospitality which we enjoy at Methodist Church House. It is always good to be able to visit many of our colleagues when we are there and to work together with them.
I love the buzz of the capital, but I have to admit that I will not be sorry to be home-based next week back here in Devon, before my travels begin again!
