Remembrance
When the Sycamore Gap tree was deliberately cut down it caused dismay among many folk, there was hope that something good could come out of the destruction. It was decided that the tree would be salvaged and used in a way that gave honour to it. The seeds and shoots were taken to try and re-grow sycamore trees and the tree stump taken until it was decided what to do to commemorate it.
There is now an Installation, designed by Artist Charlie Whinney, at The Sill National Landscape Centre, Northumberland which has been created to remember all that the tree has meant to those who visited it.
As we think of Remembrance Sunday we too remember those who will be thinking of loved ones today
We shared our memories of the 1st and 2nd World Wars at our recent Network meeting and we remember that there are still conflicts around the world.
Prayer
We pray for peace across all parts of our world and thank God for all those who serve their country in the Army, Air Force, Navy, as Chaplains and in Support Groups. Amen
The branch below created from the Sycamore Gap tree says ‘Heart, Strong, Shoots’. Help us to be strong in all that you call us to do.
