Let’s Talk About It: Because Love Shouldn’t Hurt

A Webinar on Domestic Abuse & VAWG

“The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

Dear Sisters,

In our “Let’s Talk About It!” series, we promised to pull back the curtain on the topics that matter most, even when they are difficult to discuss. This February, we invite you to a session held with the utmost sensitivity, love, and grace as we address Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG).

We believe that the Church should be the safest place for our sisters, yet silence often keeps suffering hidden. This month, we are breaking that silence together.

Our Honoured Guests

We are humbled to welcome voices of lived experience and expertise to guide us through this vital conversation:

  • Kate Little: The Methodist Connexional Safeguarding Survivor Lead Officer together with 3 Voices of Bravery; three survivors who have graciously chosen to share their stories with us. We hold their courage in high esteem and listen with open hearts.
  • Forward UK & The Faith and VAWG Coalition: These vital partners will help us understand the complexities of domestic abuse and demonstrate how we can practically and prayerfully support our communities.

Why Join Us?

This is more than a webinar; it is a step toward healing and advocacy. We will explore:

  • What domestic abuse looks like in its many forms.
  • The unique challenges faced by women within faith communities.
  • How to spot the signs and offer a bridge to safety and support.

A Note on Care: We recognize that this topic may be triggering or difficult for many. We encourage you to join us in a space where you feel safe. During the session, we will provide information on support services and ensure the environment is one of mutual respect and confidentiality.

Join us as we seek justice, empower our sisters, and ensure that every home is a place of peace.
