A warm and sunny day yesterday with the Birmingham District at Holland House near Evesham, where I had been invited to lead a reflective day for 42 women. I shared some of the stories of my visits to Greece and Germany over the last three years, with a focus on the refugees I have met and the work of individuals and churches to support them.
Between sessions we enjoyed each other’s company, and the beauty of the grounds and the river, sometimes quietly on our own, sometimes engaging in conversation together. The time passed all too quickly and by 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon I was setting off again on my train journey home to Devon. It was good to stay with Diana and Ian Bosman on Friday night and I was grateful for their hospitality and the ferrying around from station to station!
This week I shall write further about one of the conversations which I shared during a break yesterday morning. Today I leave you with a photo of the beautiful setting of our day and the reminder that Sandra Goodwin and Chris Thompson leave for Bolivia tomorrow. Please remember them in your prayers if you can.
