I find it hard to believe that two years ago I would today have been preparing to go back to my job in a Devon comprehensive school for the start of the new term. Over the Christmas holiday of 2013 I had written two significant pieces. One was my resignation from my post, to take effect the following July. The other was an application for the role of MWiB President.
This Christmas I was given a calendar of daily thoughts and reflections. Today the Bible verse was Joshua chapter 3 verse 4 – ‘Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before.’
I had ‘never been this way before’ – after a lifetime of working with teenagers I had never even been to a women’s meeting, and yet I knew that I needed to push the MWiB door and see whether it opened. It did, and has led me into new challenges, but also into areas where I have been able to use the skill set which I have developed, unknowingly, over the course of my life so far.
Applications for the two roles of Communications Officer and President are due in tomorrow. Please pray that these roles will be filled in a way that takes forward the aim of MWiB, to equip, enable and encourage, and above all to know Christ and to make him known.
