Today will be filled with various tasks which need completing before I take a couple of days off and disappear for some quiet time at a local retreat house. Ken will be away, too, so I shall not feel guilty at being away from home out of choice, rather than on MWiB business!
When I worked full time I occasionally escaped to the same retreat, usually just for a day at half term, and spent most of the time sleeping and regaining energy! This time I am going simply to have time to ‘be’ and to ‘listen’.
I shall refrain from using technology while I am away, so there will be no more blogs until towards the end of the week. I shall look forward to reconnecting then! I feel it appropriate this morning to use a traditional and well-known Irish blessing, which I love:
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
